Especially the grape varieties Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon blanc, but also Riesling and Pinot Grigio find in the fertile soils the necessary characteristics for lush and rich flavors.

Red wines

The red wines are characterized by a unique elegance. Especially the blue Burgundy (Pinot Noir) is as convincing today as it was then. Already in 1894 the first sensory test of the "Rametzer Blauburgunder" vintage 1890 was carried out by Edmund Mach. Due to the unique microclimate, the ideal cultivation altitude and the special soil conditions of the vineyards, the red wines become very fine and fresh, convince with elegance and complexity of fragrance and tannin.

The winery Castle Königsberg-Castel Monreale is undoubtedly one of the pearls of the wineries of Trentino - South Tyrol. Above the research institute of San Michele a/A rises the medieval building structure, which boasts over 20 hectares of contiguous vineyards.

Here we find the ideal conditions for the cultivation of grape varieties similar to Champagne such as Chardonnay Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. An uncompromising selection of grapes, as well as the traditional method of bottle fermentation, are carried out only in excellent harvest years. The multi-award winning sparkling wines "Castel Monreale Brut", "Castel Monreale Brut Rosé" and "Castel Monreale Extra Brut" are very popular and suitable companions for any occasion.
